Advanced Course: Fighting Game (Learning about managing States, and frame specific programming).
I cannot find this course anywhere. I understand that it's an extremely complex and time consuming to even make a few characters (Due to Modelling, Animation, Rigging, Programming etc). But I think it's a really good topic that will help boost everyone's game design, and programming abilities very well.
I suggest 2 projects for this course:
1. 2D Fighting Game
2. 3D Fighting Game (Akin to Devil May Cry, God of War but not that complex).
1. The first project can consist of only 2 characters and a moving parallax background. The characters will have frame specific combos and Input commands to do special attacks.
2. The 3D Project will consist of 1 character in a 3D environment. With perhaps 3 weapons, 2 Melee and 1 Projectile. Combination attacks with frame specific programming to create combo trees.
X = Button
| = no input for a certain amount of frames/seconds
E.g. Combo 1: *** Combo 2: X | XX | X Combo 3: XX | X | ***
This would be a really good course to developers such as myself who want a bit more of an advanced course!
