RPG Game like Sacred or Diablo in Unreal
Classic old fashioned game as Sacred or Diablo.
1) AI monster
2) Day-Night cycle
3) Questing system
4) Inventory System
5) Crafting System
6) Profession System
7) Different Heroes (Mage, Warrior ...)
This looks like it’s going to be happening! Go back it over on Kickstarter and let’s make this project awesome.
I would like to see you start with lets say a first person shooter or space game.. and do it up to a point (a working game) then in the next class.. expand on the same game.. maybe by adding physics, inventory, and crafting.. then on the next class add multiplayer, and random maps, and then the next class add open world random generation world, and putting in support for mods. Kind of a set of classes from start to finish. Taking a game from what would be after the first class very early alpha.. to early access then all the way through to completion.

Is this gonna be a whole new course or gonna be a new section in Unity?
If this existed as Logan Lux suggested I'd be all over this.
I've seen and read parts of Game Programming Patterns (http://gameprogrammingpatterns.com/contents.html) but because I'm only new to programming I can't quite grasp it. If it were in a familiar environment (like Unity) and the games were simple I could focus purely on the explanation and new technique.
As soon as http://help.gamedev.tv/forums/356757-content-suggestions/suggestions/14675106-using-python-in-blender is finished (mid November) we will be turning our full attention to this.
Meanwhile follow Ben on Kickstarter if you haven't already, just in case :-) https://www.kickstarter.com/profile/bentristem
The monetization of mobile game is very important topic: in-app purchases, advertising, earning points for video ads views.
There is also a new advertising option for VR and AR: http://vire.co/ - the first Native Advertising platform for Virtual and Augmented Reality.
I would like to know how to create a Character Creation and Customization System like ark survival, I can't find anything useful about this on the internet but it is a key component to have when creating a multiplayer and even a single player game
It could have:
2.Changing body proportions
3.An in-game UI to do this
4.A way for the player to save the character
5.possibility to have multiple characters

It should also include the major consoles, what other Android based platforms to consider distributing games and why you might choose one over another, and even selling items with the Unity Asset Store.

i agree, ben you should check out Baldur's Gate,
it was just, really brilliant. it is worth checking :)

I think it will be awesome if this course will teach us how to develop a RPG in the scale of Baldur's Gate questing with deep meaningful conversations and a dialogue system that can reflect on the character's skills. I mean I love diablo but it's not deep enough haha
I'd like to see this course modelled around Bastion. It's a well designed game that's simple on the surface yet offers considerable depth. Out of the suggestions I believe it would give us the widest foundation to apply to games of our own, without becoming a bloated project.
Having said that, if the topics/modules (and their components) were somewhat modular perhaps it doesn't matter for a larger project to become bloated if you can pick bits out easily.
Agreed. You should merge.

If we can get some of these contents, sure!
I agree we will need this in the RPG, so merging this idea.
We're thinking that we'll publish the RPG game coruse (http://help.gamedev.tv/forums/356757-content-suggestions/suggestions/13660419-rpg-game-like-sacred-or-diablo-in-unity), if it gets enough support on Kickstarter.
If so, would you guys be happy for me to merge this idea in?
We hear you Joey, that's the idea with our upcoming RPG. I'll merge this idea.
Woohoo!! Been waiting for this forever.
Things I would love to see:
1. Inventory System
2. Save/load System
3. Pathfinding 2D with A*
4. Dialogue System
5. NPC/Player Cutscenes
6. Crafting System
7. 2D Character Customization

Here are some things I would love to see in a game like this:
1) Zelda-like combat system.
2) Minecratt-like crafting system.
3) Procedural generated worlds.
4) Diablo 3-like skill system.
5) 3 to 5 classes.
I know that each of these things add more and more complexity to the game, but we could crowdsource the game or make separated courses for diferente parts.
Woohoo! Great to hear Ben. Thanks for the update.
