    • The Complete Unity Developer 2017

      We'd love to update the Unity course completely, same projects but in the latest version of Unity and with 1000s of small improvements.

      This would start in Unity 5.4 or higher, and we would upgrade during the production of the course (e.g. if Unity 6 ships)

      The only way we can afford to do this is create a different course, and offer it as an upgrade.

      Would be $10 to upgrade for existing Complete Unity Developer students.

That is certainly usable, but I am far more interested in LAN and WAN (via direct IP communication) routes.         • Open World Suvival

          A very graphical based (look at a lot of the camera tricks and effects (could tie in with the blender course)) photorealistic open world survival game. Use of procedural generation and some more complicated ideas. (The following are not meant to be complicated, just ideas, before some violent nerd attacks me) Research trees. Saving progress. AI. Good terrain gen. Use of other free tools. e.g. Terragen to create terrain. Lots of building blocks to make a huge beautiful survival game.

          • Steamworks: Online Multiplayer / Matchmaking / Achievements

            This is for a course to learn how to integrate Steamworks into your project to enable online multiplayer, achievements, matchmaking so on. There isn't too much information on Steamworks and how to integrate it into your game. It would be nice to have a course on how to do it.

            This will be for people who want to launch their game onto the Steam distribution service but don't know anything or how to integrate Steamworks.

                  • How to make a living as an Indie Game Developer

                    Some people already know how to make games, maybe they are currently developing their own games, but wanting to make a game does not mean that they want to work for someone else; personally that is my case, having worked at a big mobile-games company.

                    So this course could address topics like Marketing, Managing a Devlog, the use of Agile Methodologies like Kanban or Scrum, Game Design/Planning, etc. Topics that are neglegted many times that would make a big difference for the success of Indie Developers

                        2D top down farming course that goes through the following topics.

                        -Planting crops, water them, watch them grow from day to day.
                        -Calendar System that keeps track of days, months, and years.
                        -Save and load your character, house, and crops.

                        -Weather System

                          - Calculating axis
                          - Quaternion explained
                          - Lerp/Slerp
                          - Raycast for hit-checking
                          - Vector3, Quaternion, and other relevant static method API's for calculating these things.
                          - More detailed info about screen coords and world coords and the relation between the two. When do you need to convert one to the other.

                          Basically things you run into when making a more complex 2D game where things has to rotate relative to other things. When making any top-down 2D game you run into these scenarios quickly.

                          • Networked Asynchronous Mobile Game

                            Similar to the Zynga 'With Friends' series, we build a (nearly negligible) game, like Hangman, which players take turns working on in asynchronous gameplay. The game should be mobile and pc/mac compatible, and have a backend database for us to keep track of users and moves.

                                I think Unity API is more time intensive than a programming language
                                C#.

                                Unity engine has some core API classes. such as Object. GameObject. Rigidbody. Transform. Camera. Quaternion. Vector3........

                                • Camera-based course 3D *and* 2D

                                  A bad camera can break a great game.

                                  There hasn't been a great explanation and/or exploration of the pivotal role cameras play in games and considering every game has a camera, I think it's time we all put our director hats on and learnt how to use a camera properly!

                                  There's the obvious but not simple feature of how a camera follows a player, but there also a host of other topics this course could cover, such as:

                                  colour grading (lookup textures etc)
                                  camera shake
                                  depth of field, blur
                                  transitions
                                  zoom in/outs
                                  multi-cam
                                  etc

                                  All of these things are elements…

                                          I really want to create a 2D games but I just can't do it! If 3D, it's ok but 2D...I just don't know how to do it!
