    • Vive/Oculus VR Hand Controller Development For Unreal

      Additional modules in the existing Unreal C++ course that would provide basic knowledge of implementing HTC Vive/SteamVR specific features including head tracking, controller interaction and roomscale/chaperone components. Could potentially be expanded to include Oculus Rift when touch controllers for that system are available.

          • How to make a turn-based tactical game like XCOM or Final Fantasy Tactics in Unreal

            The course would teach how to make the systems and explain the software design behind this style of game. A single map that you could choose between two sides , with different character classes , magic/skills and AI.

                Even though it could be a complete course alone, this might as well be included in one of the sections of unreal engine and it could be just a simple game that shows the mechanics in general and not the whole thing.
                What I think the most interesting part of a hack and slash game and what the section could be about is:
                - Really fast paced combat
                - Possibility of doing and chaining combos
                - Basic character upgrading (health, strength, unlocking combos, etc)
                - spawning swarms of enemies at a time (probably tens of them)

                  Can you see about working in information on the Fracturing tool inside the Unreal Editor during the Basic Visual Effects
                  section? There isn't much information on how to properly setup the values for destructible meshes. Would love some expert insight into the tool if possible.

                      • Making a game that can be 'modded' by the community with extensions.

                        The process of making 'mods' for games is very complex in unreal.

                        It would be super interesting to read about how to make a game that allows user to create 'mods', such as:

                        - Custom maps

                        - Custom scripts for maps (eg. open door when close)

                        - Custom content (eg. items, etc).

                        Similar to what is available on the steam workshop for games.

                            The Matinee animation tool provides the ability to animate the properties of Actors over time, to create either dynamic gameplay or cinematic in-game sequences. The system is based on the use of specialized animation tracks in which you can place keyframes to set the values of certain properties of the Actors in the level.                               Being able to import custom meshes, animations and skeletons, of humanoid characters. How to control the character actions and changing its animations based on the action performed, be it walking, running, jumping, fighting, etc. There is tons of free modcaps (Motion captures) out there, so being able to import and apply them to the skeleton.                                 Be they top-down or otherwise, JRPGs once ruled the gaming sphere. This course would would teach everything from turn-based combat to random encounters, from multiple party members to to levelling up, and from shops, clinics, and armorers to equipping, consuming, and upgrading items.

                                In a nutshell, we're looking at everything RPG Maker allows you to do, but without the limitations imposed by RM.

                                  • Unreal Graphics - Adding in "Settings" options for Texture, Shading, Distance, etc

                                    Basically, i would suggest inserting options for graphics (Texture: Low, Medium, High; Shading; Distance; etc - you know what i am talking about :D). I don't necessarily ask for all, but i think it would be nice to know how to make a game that can use 2 gb vram for high details and 1 gb vram for low (don't take it literally).

                                          We all know, today smartphones, tablets etc. are as important as PCs have been in the past.

                                          So, it is very important, how to call proprietary functions of smartphones, tablet etc. on differnet operating systems.
